QA Solution
Our client Lapine needed a way to produce custom printed designs on Gatorade caps for their clients e-commerce website so that the product was shipped to its consumer's destination quickly and the consumer can switch custom caps on their bottles.
The challenge of printing this product was how we would use our UV printer to produce variable designs and cap colors to ship at the best quality with little to no mistakes made during the process.
During our testing of printing the best quality, we found that the nozzle of the UV printer needs to print on a flat surface. However, the cap materials are raised in the center. The tray the caps sit on also shakes slightly when printing, which causes registration issues. The solution was to create a custom jig for the caps to sit in to make the center flat and prevent from shaking.
The next challenge we faced was how would we receive multiple orders of different quantities per day and ship them to their correct destination?
Based on the data we receive for an order, our solution was to print out sheets of the data. These sheets will be printing on label stock of boxes of information pertaining to said order laid out in the order the jig should be loaded and products to be shipped to, leaving little room for mistakes throughout the process.
